Meet the Austin Estate Planning and Probate Attorneys
Erin Thrash
Erin M. Thrash is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a member of the College of the State Bar. She has been licensed to practice law since 1982 in Texas and Louisiana. She has focused her practice on estate planning where she can assist clients with estate tax issues or complex family situations with unique, custom “solution planning” using her estate planning experience and "toolbox" including wills, trusts, charitable entities, limited liability companies or family limited partnerships. The firm also does probate and estate administrations, asset protection for high net worth individuals, LG planning, business formation and business succession planning. Erin is a teacher and frequent lecturer in these areas. Besides the state and district courts in which she appears, in 2007 she was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Erin frequently donates her time and legal experience to charities and foundations which benefit women and children in need. She provided the legal work for With Nici’s Heart Foundation, a charity founded for children with catastrophic illnesses, including transplant recipients, DSF-Dream a Dream Therapeutic Horsemanship, a foundation for teaching children with disabilities to ride horses and LTLOV, a foundation for women and children in need. She volunteers with the dispute resolution center, Volunteer Legal Services and is active in other volunteer service organizations. She is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, Travis County Women Lawyer's Association, Austin Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Women's Global Network, Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas, the Estate and Probate sections of the respective Bar Associations, she chairs the Texas Forum and she is active in a variety of community and national activities including the Komen Foundation Race for the Cure and the American Heart Association.
She earned her B.S. and J.D. degrees at Louisiana State University. Geaux Tigers! She has 3 children, 4 horses, a variety of dogs, cats, chickens and exotic birds. When she is not reading, gardening, riding or with her family, she loves to travel.
Tracy Kasparek
Being a native Austinite, Tracy knew she wanted to practice law in Austin. After she was licensed to practice law in Texas in 2007, she joined the Thrash Law Firm because of its small boutique appeal and personal client interaction. Her focus at the firm centers on Wills, Probate, Estate Planning, Elder Law and Medicaid Planning, Family Law, and Business formation and succession. Tracy also accepts ad litem appointments from the Travis County Probate Court.
Tracy received her J.D. from St. Mary’s in San Antonio and B.A. in Business from Southwestern University in Georgetown. While attending St. Mary’s, she became a published staff writer on The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Minority Issues for her comment advocating gay rights. Tracy was also elected to the Student Bar Association, the law school’s student governmental body. In addition, Tracy participated in several community service projects which earned her a Pro Bono Certificate at graduation as well as the Marianist Service to the Community award.
Over the years Tracy has continued her work with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid in representing individuals in family law cases who have been victims of domestic violence. Tracy also continues to be active in the community through her memberships in the Travis County Women’s Law Association, the Lakeway Chamber of Commerce, Alpha Kappa Psi, and the Austin chapters of the Southwestern University and St. Mary’s Law Alumni Associations. She loves Austin, and takes advantage of the lakes, greenbelt, Tiara Tuesdays and UT sporting events whenever possible.
